“From Russia with Love”: First Danish retail VHS cover (1989)

In 1989 Warner Home Video issued all of the James Bond 007 films (except the Columbia-produced "Casino Royale" from 1967) on retail VHS through local distributor Metronome Video. The Bond films had not previously been available for sale in Denmark.

This initial retail series had specially designed cover art with raster graphics on a metallic grey background which was obviously meant to resemble Maurice Binder's famous gunbarrel design.

The artist who made the artwork for the second film in the series, "From Russia with Love" (1963), is uncredited (with good reason, one might add):

The VHS cover for "Dr. No" (1962) is distinguished by its terrible artwork reminiscent of African or Indian wall-posters:

Bond•O•Rama Podcast 002: “Casino Royale in Concert” (2018)

Martin Campbell's James Bond 007 film "Casino Royale" from 2006 will be shown on large movie screens in five Danish concert halls from November 6 thru 10, 2018. Odense Symphony Orchestra is performing David Arnold's entire score live to picture at all five venues in Aalborg, Odense, Aarhus, Vejle, and Copenhagen.

In the second podcast from Bond•O•Rama.dk (the first primarily in English) we visit the first orchestra rehearsals at Odense Concert Hall and speak to the British guest conductor David Firman about James Bond music and the art of conducting "live to picture".
